    Description

    Description of Position:

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations. This includes maintaining the general ledger, preparing and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The role also involves preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting.

    Key Duties:

    + Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

    + Perform reconciliations for bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.

    + Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

    + Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

    + Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

    + Prepare and analyze financial reports for management review.

    + Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.

    + Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

    + Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues.

    Requirements

    Requirements of the Position:

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

    + 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.

    + Strong understanding of GAAP principles.

    + Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).

    + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

    + Team-oriented with a proactive approach to tasks.

    + Experience with ERP systems (SAP and Oracle preferred).
