Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Santa Clara, California. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to complex financial operations involving gifts and endowment accounting. The ideal candidate will excel in handling detailed tasks, be proficient in advanced Excel functions, and demonstrate the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage gifts and contribution accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports related to endowments and funds.
• Collaborate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills, to complete detailed worksheets.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks with minimal supervision.
• Apply expertise in fund accounting to handle large and intricate financial structures.
• Ask probing questions and proactively address challenges to deliver high-quality results.
• Work within the Workday system to manage financial data and processes efficiently.
Requirements
• Extensive experience in general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and formulas.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles and practices preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage detailed tasks effectively.
• Proven experience collaborating with external auditors.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to adapt quickly to complex financial environments.
• Familiarity with Workday Financial is required
