Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Latham, New York. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a critical role in supporting financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and facilitating key accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and finance, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with internal teams to gather required information for external tax filings, including preparation of materials for Form 990.

• Assist in the preparation and review of board reports, ensuring timely and accurate financial data.

• Perform detailed reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account analysis.

• Provide assistance with banking-related tasks and ensure efficient management of financial transactions.

• Collaborate with external auditors during financial statement audits and address any inquiries.

• Review and enhance financial reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

• Utilize accounting systems such as Prologue, if applicable, to streamline workflows.

• Maintain adherence to regulatory and organizational financial guidelines. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting, month-end close processes, and general ledger management.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance standards.

• Familiarity with financial statement audits, including coordination with external auditors.

• Hands-on experience with accounting systems, preferably Prologue.

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reconciliations.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
