Description We are looking for a skilled Controller to join our team in New York, New York. In this long-term contract role, you will oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. This position offers the opportunity to lead a team, optimize financial systems, and support organizational goals through effective financial management.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, tax compliance, and monthly closings.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making and evaluate financial performance.
• Ensure adherence to tax regulations, financial policies, and compliance standards across all operations.
• Lead and mentor a small finance team, providing guidance on daily tasks and supporting their growth and development.
• Collaborate with departments across the organization to deliver financial insights and support business objectives.
• Drive the implementation and enhancement of financial tools such as Zoho and QuickBooks to streamline workflows and improve reporting.
• Conduct variance analyses to identify trends and offer actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts to align with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
• Perform periodic audits and review internal controls to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
• Optimize financial systems to enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities. Requirements • Proven experience in managing full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end and year-end closings.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting and analysis, with the ability to provide actionable insights.
• Familiarity with financial tools such as Zoho and QuickBooks.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a finance setting.
• Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on variance analysis and forecasting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate financial information clearly.
