• Cost Accountant

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Pompano Beach, FL)


    Description We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Deerfield Beach, Florida. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in construction accounting to manage financial aspects of multiple commercial projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will excel in analyzing costs, preparing detailed financial reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee accounting functions for multiple construction projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting.

    • Prepare and manage AIA billing documents, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.

    • Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve project efficiency.

    • Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions with attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Utilize Procore and ComputerEase software to maintain organized financial records and project documentation.

    • Collaborate with project managers to review budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.

    • Generate detailed reports on project expenses and profitability for internal review.

    • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards in all accounting practices.

    • Provide support in managing financial aspects of up to 10 projects simultaneously.

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting within the construction industry.

    • Proficiency in construction accounting software such as Procore and ComputerEase.

    • Strong knowledge of AIA billing and financial documentation processes.

    • Expertise in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management.

    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

    • Ability to multitask and manage financial aspects of several projects concurrently.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
