Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in San Pedro, California. This role involves managing financial data, performing accounts payable tasks, and supporting general ledger activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will contribute to month-end closings, reconcile donations and grants, and uphold compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice coding, vendor payments, and credit card payments.
• Perform general ledger entries and support reconciliation of bank accounts.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile donations, grants, and fundraising activities in compliance with non-profit accounting standards.
• Maintain vendor records and ensure proper tax reporting, including preparation of 1099 forms.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for financial data entry and analysis.
• Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with non-profit reporting requirements and organizational guidelines.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
• Contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department by streamlining processes. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing accounts payable, credit card payments, and invoice processing.
• Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices, including donation and grant reconciliation.
• Knowledge of vendor tax reporting requirements, such as 1099 forms.
• Ability to perform bank and cash reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
• Skilled in using tools like bill.com for payment processing and financial management.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
