Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our client's manufacturing facility in NE Columbia. This is an on-site role and requires a proactive leader capable of ensuring compliance, driving process improvements, and providing strategic financial guidance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, adhering to U.S. accounting standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and bank covenants while managing tax filings and audits.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance financial reporting integrity.
• Oversee and coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities to optimize accounting processes through automation and system enhancements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans to meet company needs.
• Partner with operational and corporate teams on working capital forecasts and strategic financial planning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and business partners to support organizational goals.
• Coordinate with external accounting firms to ensure audits and tax filings are completed accurately and on time.
• Provide necessary financial data to the parent company for consolidation and reporting purposes.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in U.S. accounting standards and principles, particularly within the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with familiarity in accounting platforms.
• Strong analytical and business acumen, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
