Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Tonawanda, New York. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to accurate financial operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and collaborate across departments to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will excel in financial analysis, reporting, and maintaining internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.

• Conduct account reconciliations and variance analyses, addressing discrepancies effectively.

• Update and maintain internal control documentation to support regulatory compliance.

• Manage month-end closing processes and maintain precise general ledger entries.

• Develop comprehensive financial reports for internal stakeholders.

• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and external regulations.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial variances.

• Support external audit preparations and fulfill reporting requirements.

• Strengthen internal controls to protect company assets and mitigate risks.

• Collaborate with various departments to enhance financial management practices. Requirements • Proficiency in corporate tax processes and sales tax management.

• Experience in preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

• Familiarity with audit procedures and requirements.

• Ability to analyze financial data and interpret results effectively.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
