Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is pivotal in overseeing grant management, financial reporting, and compliance for various programs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and financial analysis to ensure effective budgeting, forecasting, and adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the financial aspects of grants, including monthly, quarterly, and final reporting for housing centers, energy assistance programs, and other assigned grants.

• Ensure all program documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date to support compliance and operational needs.

• Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide timely communication to prevent overspending.

• Analyze and forecast financial positions to ensure proper budget compliance and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

• Review financial transactions such as invoices, travel reports, and timesheets to ensure compliance with policies, initiating corrective actions when necessary.

• Conduct grant monitoring reviews and provide requested documentation to ensure program compliance.

• Perform month-end close processes, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.

• Reconcile accounts and bank statements to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.

• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger for accurate financial reporting.

• Collaborate with relevant departments to address any discrepancies or financial concerns. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

• Strong understanding of account and bank reconciliations.

• Expertise in financial reporting and grant management.

• Ability to analyze and forecast financial data to ensure compliance with budgets and regulations.

• Knowledge of financial transactions and purchasing policies with the ability to identify and correct non-compliant items.

• Excellent communication skills to convey financial information to various stakeholders.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate program documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
