Senior Accountant

About the Role

We’re seeking a talented Senior Accountant to support core operational accounting, general ledger reconciliations, and financial control activities. In this role, you’ll apply strong technical accounting knowledge, a sharp analytical approach, and effective problem‑solving to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. You’ll partner cross‑functionally, contribute to audits, help drive automation initiatives, and provide mentorship to associate‑level team members.

What You’ll Do

+ Apply relevant technical accounting standards to new and existing products

+ Lead month‑end close activities, including journal entries and variance analysis

+ Prepare financial analyses and deliver reporting for senior leadership

+ Draft and support technical accounting memos and related documentation

+ Review and approve complex general ledger reconciliations

+ Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes

+ Support internal and external audits with clear, well‑organized documentation

+ Contribute to automation initiatives using tools like BlackLine

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and strengthened controls

+ Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and internal standards

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred)

+ 7+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or internal controls

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks

+ Experience within financial institutions preferred; public accounting or audit background is a plus

+ Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with reconciliation tools

+ Experience with Jira or Snowflake for process automation is a plus

+ Ability to excel in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities

Preferred Skills

+ Extensive experience performing GL account reconciliations

+ Prior exposure to credit union or banking environments

+ Strong communication abilities and exceptional problem‑solving skills
