Description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in The Woodlands, TX. This role is ideal for a professional with current or prior public accounting tax experience, an active CPA license, and proven supervisory experience. You will lead tax engagements, mentor team members, and provide strategic tax planning for a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Tax Engagements

+ Oversee and review tax engagements for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.

+ Ensure compliance deliverables—returns, extensions, and estimated payments—are accurate, timely, and meet firm quality standards.

+ Review estimated tax calculations, projections, and income tax provisions (ASC 740).

+ Provide strategic tax planning and consultation on entity structure, compensation, and cash flow.

+ Research complex tax issues and communicate findings and recommendations clearly.

Coach, Mentor, and Review

+ Supervise and review the work of associates and senior associates.

+ Deliver constructive feedback and guidance to build technical competence and professional judgment.

+ Foster a collaborative, learning-focused environment that encourages curiosity and continuous improvement.

Client Service and Relationship Building

+ Serve as the primary client contact throughout engagements.

+ Develop a deep understanding of each client’s operations, systems, and objectives.

+ Deliver actionable insights that demonstrate value beyond compliance.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Active CPA license required.

+ Current or prior public accounting tax experience is essential.

+ Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.

+ Experience managing multiple engagements and supervising staff.

+ Excellent communication and leadership skills.
