    The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

    Boston University's Metropolitan College is seeking applicants for part-time teaching positions in Actuarial Science. Candidates with strong backgrounds in other related quantitative areas are also encouraged to apply.

     

    Metropolitan College, one of the degree granting schools and colleges of Boston University, is a leader in providing graduate and undergraduate programs offered in flexible delivery formats, including face-to-face, blended, and online.

     

    Compensation is based on the union negotiated rates for part-time lecturers for Boston University (currently $7,880 per 4-credit course for probationary faculty and $10,260 for post-probationary faculty), and is paid on per-course, per-semester basis. One to two courses may be taught per semester depending on the needs of the academic department.

    Required Skills

    Ph.D. in the related field preferred; Master's degree or Associateship/Fellowship in Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society required. Prior teaching or professional experience in the discipline is a strong advantage.
