    Job Purpose & Scope

     

    Translates business requirements into technical and drives data engineering delivery with a focus on requirement management and traceability across development lifecycles. Acts as a central point of contact for requirement management of concurrent Data Engineering tracks across cross-functional teams with a focus on coordination across lines of business, DEM Team, IT team, internal audit stakeholders, and regulators.

     

    Essential Job Functions

     

    + Designs and execute complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data in Snowflake.

    + Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation processes and reconciliation techniques.

    + Owns the full data analysis lifecycle for data engineering product delivery.

    + Integrates and analyzes data from various sources (databases, APIs, flat files) to support business intelligence and reporting needs.

    + Collaborates with various business units to gather and understand data requirements.

    + Provides support and troubleshooting for SQL-based data issues and performance optimization.

    + Documents data definitions, business rules, and transformation logic.

    + Supports data governance initiatives by ensuring proper access controls, data quality standards, and audit trails.

    + Continuously improves SQL practices and contributes to the development of reusable query templates and reporting standards.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

     

    + Comprehensive in writing SQL queries for data extraction & analysis. Comprehensive knowledge of normalization, dimensional modeling, and building reusable views or dbt models in Snowflake.

    + General knowledge of the Data Engineering Product Development lifecycle.

    + General knowledge of Snowflake architecture (warehouses, stages, schemas, roles).

    + Ability to effectively manage data requirements and translate business requirements into data solutions.

    + Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in decision making.

    + Ability to meet stringent deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate flexibility in a continually changing environment.

    + Ability to design and maintain reports, dashboards and ad-hoc analysis using BI tools.

    + Ability to work independently and without close supervision.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and business stakeholders and build cross‐functional relationships.

    + Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in data validation and reconciliation.

    + Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, profiling, and understanding of banks data engineering product requirements across both legacy and modern data platforms.

    + Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

    + Proficiency in interpreting data to generate insights, identify trends, and support decision-making.

    + Intermediate skill in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, MS Project) and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence).

    + Skill in using computers and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    Basic Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or commensurate work experience, required.

    + 4+ years of experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or SQL querying required.

    + 2+ years of experience working with Python and R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and automation required.

    + Must be able to submit to a post offer criminal background check which will include finger printing prior to employment with the Bank.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience working within data portfolio in financial or Banking services organization preferred.

    + Experience supporting teams responsible for model development, model governance or model risk management, preferred.
