Job Purpose & Scope
Supports the Model Governance Program and the objectives and program goals of Model Risk Management (MRM) through day-to-day operational support and execution of key model governance activities under general supervision.
Essential Job Functions
+ Administers the Model Risk Management (MRM) platform and inventory (Apparity, Github, Jira, SAS, Smartsheet, SharePoint).
+ Coordinates model validation projects and manages workflows related to validation findings.
+ Verifies results on ongoing model monitoring reports, provides effective challenge and reports results to the oversight committee.
+ Creates model and End User Computing (EUC) attestation forms on the respective platforms. Liaises with model owners and EUC owners to ensure quarterly model and EUC attestations are performed in a timely manner.
+ Reviews model validation reports for adherence to procedures and standard.
+ Tracks, reports on, and manages remediation progress for all model-related findings and issues.
+ Fosters relationships across the organization to promote Risk Management practices that balance rewards with existing and emerging risks.
+ Facilitates ad-hoc training for the 1st Line of Defense business partners that provides awareness and education on compliance to the MRM policy, procedures and standard.
+ Monitors MRM key risk indicators and applicable policy adherence.
+ Assists with the creation of the MRM quarterly reporting deck to reflect validation results, governance policy breaches, and other key materials required for the management oversight committees.
+ Supports the Program Manager’s implementation and monitoring of the Bank’s End-User-Computing (“EUC”) program and policy, including management of the EUC inventory and providing guidance to internal partners on maneuvering through EUC application.
+ Provides feedback to key Risk leadership on any pertinent matters requiring attention.
+ Collaborate with model developers, users, and business risk coordinators to collect artifacts and/or information for internal/external audit engagements.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ General knowledge of model risk management governance frameworks and principles.
+ Basic knowledge of the financial services regulatory environment.
+ Basic knowledge of internal controls related to model risk management.
+ Basic knowledge of project management practices.
+ Basic knowledge of model usage principles and practices and how they relate to the business.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills and the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in various situations.
+ Ability to work under general supervision.
+ Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and internal and external stakeholders.
+ Ability to work effectively and efficiently both as part of a team and independently, while demonstrating effective interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to utilize discretion and sound judgment in decision making and maintain confidentiality.
+ Ability to demonstrate effective critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, working with both exacting deadlines and shifting demands, unforeseen events, and changing priorities.
+ Ability to demonstrate initiative and be proactive in accomplishing work tasks and objectives.
+ Ability to coordinate and facilitate meetings to ensure resolution of items.
+ Ability to work extended hours and travel, including overnight stays, as needed.
+ Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics, or job-related field, or commensurate work experience, required.
+ 6+ months’ experience in model risk or project management, preferred.
