    Job Summary

    The Honors College is seeking to hire a program manager to work on a variety of initiatives within Honors Learning Community Programming. Honors Learning Communities provide four years of support to help Honors students successfully complete the Honors degree and prepare them for success in their post-degree lives. This position involves close collaboration with students, student leaders, faculty, and other stakeholders within the Honors College and across campus.

     

    The successful applicant will report to the faculty director for Learning Communities within the Honors College and work with a team of dedicated colleagues.

     

    The learning communities’ team is a highly collaborative group dedicated to supporting Honors student development and success. Learning community program managers assist with development, evaluation, and implementation of learning community supports through Canvas as well as through organizing events, working with student leaders, and direct consultations with students.

    Responsibilities

    + Supports Honors College Learning Community programs that encourage community and thesis completion among Honors students.

    + Oversight and supervision of peer support programs within Learning Communities including recruitment, training and retention of hired students.

    + Capacity to be organized, maintain a schedule, work with student peer leaders, prioritize and delegate opportunities and tasks in ways that align with student aspirations.

    + Participates in collaborative programming with Departmental Honors Liaisons (DHLs) and maintains strong, positive partnerships with units across campus.

    + Supports ongoing planning around co-curricular learning community events and activities.

    + Communicates thesis registration & submission deadlines to students, DHLs, and faculty thesis mentors.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.

     

    Previous experience in an advising, counseling or teaching environment is preferred.

     

    Preferences

     

    + Experience with academic program management, including student leadership opportunities.

    + Experience with Honors education and/or working with highly motivated, high-achieving students.

    + Experience with office and project management.

    + Experience with event planning and operations.
