Job Summary
The Academic Materials Associate supports the daily operations of the Academic Materials department by assisting students, faculty, and staff with course materials. This position includes data entry, inventory management, customer service, and coordination with vendors and professors. Comprehensive training is provided, including hands-on instruction in NetSuite, VitalSource, and department procedures. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable working with computer systems for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities
* Perform accurate data entry related to course materials, inventory, and adoptions, with training provided
* Assist students and faculty with obtaining required course materials and understanding program options
* Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner
* Contact vendors to request and follow up on invoices
* Contact professors regarding course material adoptions via phone and email
* Process and manage pushes from VitalSource to NetSuite after receiving training
* Help set up, create, and manage books in VitalSource and NetSuite
* Attach textbooks to classes and verify course accuracy
* Unpack, stock, and organize received textbooks
* Order textbooks and help maintain accurate inventory records
* Create, package, and process chargebacks
* Create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking and reporting
* Assist students and professors with understanding the Utah Day One Access Program
* Perform general office and Academic Materials tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current University of Utah student.
Preferences
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to focus on computer-based work for extended periods
* Ability to lift approximately 45 pounds
* Punctual, dependable, and accountable
* Available to work afternoon shifts
* Customer service experience
* Data entry experience
* Experience with Excel and/or Google Docs
