What You'll Do - You'll Make the Moment
+ Accounting
+ Prepares journal entries for tax accounting
+ Completes monthly account reconciliations and roll forwards of tax balances
+ Prepares legal entity accounting entries, subsidiary financial statements and researches intercompany activity
+ Assists with uncertain tax position tracking and entries
+ Assists with SEC disclosure support
+ Compliance
+ Calculates book to tax adjustments for income tax returns
+ Prepares book reclass and intercompany elimination workpapers
+ Prepares state apportionment workpapers
+ Completes forecasts of required quarterly tax payments as well as extension calculations and ensures timely deposits of estimated tax
+ Audit Support
+ Responds to notices and schedules income tax audits
+ Organizes document production for federal and state tax authorities and external auditors
+ Assists with preparing and providing support for income and franchise tax appeals
+ Prepares audit settlement reconciliations and entries
+ Process Design Projects and Support
+ Works with management to implement process improvement and/or system improvement opportunities related to legal entity accounting, compliance, estimated taxes, and tax accounting models
+ Identifies and evaluates additional opportunities for process and/or system improvement. Recommends solutions and assists with implementation.
+ Monitors tax legislation and advises on business impact of proposed law changes.
+ Bachelor in accounting from an accredited university and 1-2 years of related experience.
+ CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
+ Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and monthly journal entries and reconciliations. Tax accounting experience a plus.
+ One to two years’ experience with federal, state and local tax compliance.
+ Basic understanding of tax and/or accounting systems as well as maintaining a system of internal control.
+ Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
+ Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required. Experience with Blackline, AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning and accounting software a plus.
+ Ability to prioritize responsibilities, coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously and complete projects within deadlines
+ High degree of integrity
