    A postdoctoral position is available in the antibody-drug conjugates (ADC) research group of Prof. L. Nathan Tumey at Binghamton University (State University of New York). The successful candidate will conduct research focused on the therapeutic evaluation of antibody-drug conjugates for cancer and autoimmune disorders, antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates for cancer treatment, and immune-modulating antibody conjugates targeting lymphocytes and macrophages. The position also involves bioconjugation chemistry, including linker design and optimization.

     

    Research topics include, but are not limited to, immune-stimulating ADCs for cancer therapy and immune-suppressive ADCs for the treatment of immunological disorders.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Multi-step organic synthesis and linker optimization for ADC design

    + Development and execution of primary cell-based assays for in vitro ADC evaluation

    + In vivo evaluation of ADCs using cancer and autoimmune disease animal models

    + Data analysis, manuscript preparation, and publication in peer-reviewed journals

    + Presentation of research findings at scientific conferences

    + Mentoring graduate and undergraduate students

    + Teaching in organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry

    + Collaboration with experimental and theoretical researchers within and outside the group

    + The researcher will also have the opportunity to pursue independent research initiatives, contingent upon their relevance to ongoing projects and their potential to expand the group's research portfolio.

    Job Requirements:

    + Ph.D. in organic Chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field

    + Strong background in organic synthesis

    + Experience with primary cell culture

    + Hands-on experience with ELISA, SPR, PCR, and flow cytometry

    + Experience conducting animal studies and tissue analyses

    + Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with experimental research teams

    + Teaching experience

    Additional Information:

    Salary: $65,000 annually.
