    Evenings 1400-2230

     

    Rotating weekends and holidays

     

    Responsible for working within the established guidelines of the Laboratory Department as assigned.  As a professional, the MT is responsible for carrying out the philosophy and objectives defined by regulatory requirements and hospital standard operating procedures. F oremost among these responsibilities are strictly adhering to detail in the technical performance of laboratory procedures, solving practical and analytical problems, resolving conflict, and implementing constructive change.

    Responsibilities

    + Performs testing and test procedures according to established policies and guidelines

    + Interprets quality control results and instrument function

    + Completes scheduled preventive maintenance duties

    + Provides assistance and guidance involving repairs, validations, and function checks and works with vendors as appropriate

    + Collects blood specimens, etc. from laboratory outpatients

    + Assists and completes investigations involving unexpected or adverse outcomes and keeps documentation according to regulatory guidelines

    Qualifications

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree with major in Medical Technology or related science required .

    Experience:

    + Less than one year.

    License(s)/Certification(s):

    + Certified as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by Board of Registry of ASCP or equivalent due upon hire or within one (1) year from date of hire required .
