    Overview

    Join Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit as a Patient Care Technician Make a difference in the lives of children and their families by joining the Blank Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. Our 12-bed unit provides specialized care for patients from birth to age 17 in a family-centered environment. As a Patient Care Tech, you’ll work under the supervision of an RN to deliver compassionate, hands-on care—supporting activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection, and respiratory support.

     

    Schedule: Full-Time Nights, 32 hours/week

    Responsibilities

    + PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.

    + Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.

    + Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.

    + Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.

    + Team members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment.

    Qualifications

    License(s)/Certification(s):

    + CNA certification preferred

    + Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons

    + Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.

    Other:

    + Eighteen (18) years of age or older

    + Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently , and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
