Job Description:
This is a part-time 20-hour-per-week position with the Equal Access Clinic Network within the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine.
The Department of Community Health and Family Medicine at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine is excited to announce an opening for a part-time Clinic Network Coordinator with the Equal Access Clinic Network. This role blends healthcare, social justice, and community impact while supporting evening clinics that provide essential care to underserved populations. The Clinic Network Coordinator will help ensure smooth clinic operations by coordinating patient appointments, provider schedules, volunteer assignments, and daily logistics across multiple sites. This position is ideal for an organized, motivated individual who excels in communication and is committed to serving diverse patient populations. Additional responsibilities include managing community inquiries, collecting patient information, verifying insurance and authorizations, triaging concerns, and maintaining accurate data in electronic systems, all while contributing to a mission centered on accessible healthcare.
Primary Responsibilities are as follows:
Scheduling and Clinic Operations:
+ Manage patient appointment requests and notify patients of scheduled times, waitlist status, or follow-up needs.
+ Assist with the coordination of specialty clinics, elective clinics, and special events.
+ Maintain and update provider and patient schedules across multiple clinic sites.
+ Document all provider or schedule changes in the centralized scheduling system.
+ Communicate closely with the EACN Executive Board and Undergraduate Care Coordinator Teams to ensure adequate staffing and smooth clinic operations.
Administrative and Patient Support:
+ Gather and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
+ Verify third-party coverage and obtain authorizations or pre-certifications when required.
+ Enter patient appointments, demographic, and insurance data accurately and efficiently into electronic systems.
+ Resolve or appropriately refer patient concerns, both financial and non-financial, to the appropriate team members or departments.
This is a part-time OPS position scheduled each semester based on EACN’s operational needs.

The Equal Access Clinic Network (EACN) is a student-run, faculty-supported network of free clinics affiliated with the University of Florida College of Medicine. EACN provides primary care, specialty services, and health education to uninsured and medically underserved individuals in Gainesville and the surrounding community. Through partnerships with volunteer physicians, faculty, and students across multiple health professions programs, EACN delivers compassionate, high-quality care while offering meaningful service and training opportunities for future healthcare professionals. Expected Salary:
Compensation is based on experience, with an hourly rate between $14.00 and $15.00.
Required Qualifications:
+ High school graduate or equivalent.
+ Availability to work evening shifts 5–9 PM, Monday–Thursday.
+ Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
+ Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred:
+ Experience with EPIC or other electronic health record systems.
+ Experience with scheduling systems, calendar management, or workflow coordination.
+ Familiarity with clinic workflows, free clinics, or healthcare settings.
+ At least one year of experience in a medical, primary care, or free clinic environment.
+ Interest in medicine, public health, healthcare administration, or community health.
+ Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing and data entry.
