    Design Technologist / UX Design, Front End Development / Onsite / Seattle, WA

     

    Our client is a retail and technology powerhouse based out of Seattle, WA. They are looking to hire a Design Technologist with a passion for building solutions on a contractual basis.

     

    You will be part of a design team focused on deeply understanding customer needs and experimenting with innovative ideas in physical spaces. This role works closely with UX designers and supports a testing team conducting ongoing experimentation for confidential projects within the client’s organization.

     

    Contract Duration: 8 Months

    Required Skills & Experience

    + Experience developing visually polished, engaging, multi-user UX prototypes

    + Strong expertise in mobile prototyping using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Swift (iOS)

    + 3+ years of experience as a front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper

    + Experience using GenAI tools such as Claude Code, Cline, Codex, or similar

    + Proven experience collaborating with UX, Product, and technical partners

    + Background in physical (real-world) and digital hybrid interaction design

    Desired Skills & Experience

    + Strong understanding of software architecture and system design

    + Proficiency with real-time prototyping frameworks

    + Experience prototyping with novel sensing and display technologies

     

    What You Will Be Doing

    Daily Responsibilities

    + Lead development of hardware and software prototypes for confidential customer-facing projects

    + Use GenAI tools to accelerate prototyping, inventory processing, database creation, and analysis

    + Design and build interconnected digital and physical prototypes

    + Collaborate with UX Designers to translate requirements into functional prototypes

    + Lead lab-based prototyping, testing, and feasibility analysis

    + Support on-site testing operations and troubleshooting
