Description
Elmcrest Children’s Center has immediate openings for Part-Time (potential to move into Full-Time) direct service professionals (DSPs), to provide services to children and their families in a variety of community-based settings in the following Counties:
Onondaga, Oswego, Cortland, Broome, Cayuga, Tompkins, Tioga, Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison and Chenango.
Under NYS’s Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS), you will be responsible for supporting individuals with mental health needs to pursue individualized goals in a variety of services. Among the provider’s responsibilities are:
• Assisting in creating a safe and secure environment;
• Transporting/accompanying individuals to places within the community; and/or telehealth services as COVID regulations allow;
• Contributing ideas for improving the experiences of individuals in the program, including planning appropriate activities;
• Being flexible around the needs of the child and/or family;
• Completing daily documentation of services provided;
• Working collaboratively with family members and other professionals involved in the individual’s care; and
• Maintaining compliance with all required training.
** This position is unique in terms of compensation. Bi-weekly performance based bonuses are available to those who qualify, earning from $22/ hour up to $ 36 /hour. This opportunity can be discussed during the interview process.
Qualifications
All applicants must have one of the following:
• A Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience
• A Master’s degree

• Flexibility in scheduling including evening and/or weekend hours.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication skills, including: oral, listening, written, and inter-personal.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Self-confidence and an ability to work with children and young adults with a variety of needs.
• Exceptional customer service and collaboration skills.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Compliance with required background checks, including fingerprinting and drug testing.
• Successful completion of all mandatory training.
