Overview
Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering students to join our Orlando, Florida (FL) office's Power Delivery team focusing on Power Studies! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
+ Support the power electrical team to analyze systems, create software models, andwritereports for various projectse.g.commercial, industrial and generation projects
+ Studies performed may include:
+ Load Flow / Reactive Power Analysis
+ Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination studies using ETAP or any steady state power system tool
+ Transient studies using PSS/E and PSCAD
+ Harmonic studies using ETAP, PSCAD or transient software
+ Partner with the electrical team to create calculations and drawings for various project types
+ Continually gain knowledge in power & energy industry
+ Assistwith project design, specifications, and plans support
+ Review work with quality in mind to confirm compliance with Kimley-Horn quality standards
Qualifications
+ In the process of receivingan ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree (Bachelors,Masters, or Doctorate)
+ PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP,WinIGS, or CDEGS experience preferred
+ Understanding or willing to learn, the NEC 2020 and IEEE standards and keep up with emerging technologies
+ General understanding of engineering and energy systems
+ Load Flow, Coordination, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash studies basic theory andmethodology
+ Proficiencyusing Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office
+ Ability to work and manage several project teams concurrently
+ The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
+ The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
