Position Description
Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is seeking a Lead Technician with a wide skill set for the SACROC Gas Processing Facilities in Snyder, TX. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the plant rotating equipment. The SACROC Gas Processing facilities employs a multitude of processes which include over 300,000 hp of compression, gas dehydration facilities, NGL Recovery facilities, and CO2 membranes. The SACROC Gas Processing Facility is a PSM Facility.
+ Overseeing and coordinating field level maintenance and technical operations
+ Floating between job sites to verify that standards and procedures are followed
+ Providing leadership and technical guidance to rotating team members
+ Assign work orders, track progress, enter documentation in Maximo
+ Provide coverage for supervisors’ absence to ensure routine maintenance activities are completed
+ Research solutions to complex problems. Contact OEM or other subject matter expertise for assistance
+ Participate in Process Hazard Analysis, Pre Startup Safety Reviews, and act as the Rotating Team technical expert in various meetings
+ Leading or assisting in major overhauls and complex repair
+ Major Repairs & Projects
+ Compressor grout jobs and epoxy shim jobs
+ Compressor main bearing jobs
+ Compressor repairs/rebuilds after significant failures
+ CO2 Pump major repairsSystem Upgrades
Position Requirements
Education Required:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Technical or Trade School preferred
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Strong analytical skills.
+ Ability to work with limited supervision.
+ Proficient at operation of necessary equipment.
+ Basic math skills.
+ Must be able to work with a team, take direction from manager, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
+ Must maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record acceptable to KM’s insurer.
Physical Demands:
+ May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
+ Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
+ Primarily outdoor work.
Working Conditions:
+ Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
+ Plant vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances.
+ Requires working on holidays when a holiday falls on a scheduled on-call weekend.
+ Must be available 24 hrs a day Mon-Fri and must be available for scheduled on call weekends.
+ Must live within a 30 minute response time for call outs.
