Overview
We are seeking an experienced Shopify Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of our Shopify e‑commerce platform. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with design, product, and cross‑functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences and drive the continued growth of our online business.
This position reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
Responsibilities:
+ Design, develop, and maintain our Shopify storefront to ensure high performance, stability, and exceptional user experience.
+ Implement custom Shopify themes in collaboration with the design team to deliver visually compelling and user‑friendly interfaces.
+ Customize and extend Shopify functionality using Liquid, custom scripts, and theme development best practices.
+ Build and maintain Shopify apps, plugins, and integrations to expand site capabilities.
+ Integrate and manage third‑party apps to enhance feature sets and performance.
+ Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues related to Shopify and other web technologies.
+ Conduct site audits to ensure quality, accuracy, and error‑free functionality.
+ Optimize site speed, responsiveness, and performance across devices.
+ Stay current on Shopify platform updates, e‑commerce trends, and industry best practices.
+ Ensure site security and compliance with relevant standards.
+ Work with the broader development team to integrate Shopify with other systems and applications.
+ Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 10+ years of professional experience in Shopify development, including theme customization and app development.
+ Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid.
+ Solid understanding of e‑commerce platforms, standards, and best practices.
+ Excellent problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners.
+ Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
