Summary This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in the Business Controls and Information (TFAI) organization of Field Strategy and Operational Excellence (TFA), Transmission Field Services (TF), Transmission Services (T), Bonneville Power Administration, (BPA). A successful candidate will serve as a member of the Asset Management Data Team responsible for development, maintenance, and enhancement of processes for asset data management for all of TF. Responsibilities As an Asset Management Specialist (Data Management), you will: Leads user groups in analyzing work processes and data support requirements, identifies data that needs to flow among users and analysts, and works hands-on to better integrate the supporting databases. Develops and runs new and established queries to provide quarterly, midyear, and end-of-year analyses and reports, as well as ad-hoc reports as requested by users and senior-level managers. Serves as a systems data steward responsible for database accuracy, integrity, and consistency. Analyzes systems reports, identifies erroneous or discrepant data, and refers problems to the appropriate functional manager for correction. Provides expert advice, training, and technical assistance to TF users of Asset Suite, Cascade, and other database systems (subject-matter experts, foremen, district/field engineers, craftsmen, managers, District Resource Specialists, and staff. Stays abreast of technological changes that could help Bonneville improve existing asset management data systems. Visits outside organizations to exchange information and learn how they are using their software packages, and develops recommendations to leverage information technology to improve asset management decision-making. Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as 1) conducting analysis of work processes and data support requirements; AND 2) developing or enhancing business data processes or database management systems to ensure efficiencies in integration of supporting databases across multiple areas of an organization. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
