    Summary You will serve as DIRECTOR, ARCTIC SUBMARINE LABORATORY (ASL) in the Command Staff of UNDERSEA WAR FIGHTING DEVELOPMENT CENTER. Responsibilities You will develop and administer a fleet training program that delivers basic Arctic knowledge, advanced ship handling training, and unique sensor employment in extremely shallow iced covered water. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience in program management, Navy budget development and execution, submarine operations, Navy training and qualification programs, fleet exercise coordination, and a combination of submarine sensor employment and NAVSEA material configuration requirements. *Experience supervising and managing shore command programs, infrastructures, and resources. *Experience applying knowledge of submarine Arctic operations to make creative decisions and significant recommendations that effect positive changes and development to support critical mission requirements. *Experience developing and interpreting guidance in the area of submarine fleet operations in Arctic. This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management. Periodic travel to conferences and arctic ice camps not exceeding 25% is required. This position require exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions and sub-zero temperatures for a period of 6-weeks per year. The ice camp require the incumbent to live and dwell for weeks and months on a remote Ice Camp. Arctic exercises require daily exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions and sub-zero temperatures for a period of 6 weeks per year. Incumbent is subject to Polygraph testing.
