    Summary This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. This position is for DISA White House Communications Agency at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, District of Columbia.This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. Responsibilities Provides technical expert-level counsel on operating a broad range of global enterprise information systems, technologies, and networks as well as the systems and technologies. Provides top management continuity to the long-range information systems strategy, engineering plans and IT policies for WHCA and Presidential Information Technology Community (PITC). Directs the study, analysis, and preparation of system engineering proposals which would have significant influence on the White House Military Office (WHMO) and PITC or on the operational support of WHCA to the Presidential support mission. Develops, maintains, and facilitates the implementation of a sound and integrated IT architecture for the Agency and will provide senior-level oversight of all applicable Information Systems. Provides conceptual, technical guidance, and direction in conducting engineering and operational mission reviews. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in a broad range of information technology, systems and networking or expertise in various types of transmission media such as networking, routing, Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) voice, data, video systems, or information assurance and protection systems. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum). This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination. In accordance with DoD Instruction 5210.87, Selection of DoD Military and Civilian Personnel and Contractor Employees for Assignment to Presidential Support Activities (PSAs), the incumbent must be cleared for Category Two Presidential Support Duty based on a "Yankee White" Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
