    Summary This vacancy is for a GS-0308-14, Information Governance & Policy Director located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS and POLICY DIVISION -CG-611 in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia. Responsibilities You will serve as a Information Governance & Policy Director, responsible for the management and administration of processes and tools that enable the organization to identify, document, and access intellectual capital and information content. Performs Vulnerability Assessment and ensures that adequate internal controls systems are developed and operative so that resources are efficiently and effectively managed. Typical work assignments include: Execute all administrative and personnel management functions related to the accomplishment of the assigned mission. Oversee the management and administration of processes and tools that enable the organization to identify, document, and access intellectual capital and information content. Provide oversight of the Record Information Management (RIM) program and the USCG Mail, ensuring adequate internal controls systems are operative. Develop and provide operational life-cycle data, management guidance, ensuring short- and long-term objectives are achieved to ensure maximum efficiency, economy and effectiveness of the Record and Information Management (RIM) program and the USCG Mail Program. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. A. Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Level I (FAC P/PM-I) or management determined equivalent within two (2) years of entry into the position. B. Federal Acquisition Certification for Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Level II within one (1) year of entry into the position. To ensure the accomplishment of our mission, DHS requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation. This position requires a Secret clearance. This is not a Bargaining Unit position. Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by the closing date of the vacancy. All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit. This position requires occasional travel away from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. The applicant is required to reside in the local commuting area to be eligible for consideration. Position requires FAC P/PM-I and FAC COR II Certification. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Qualifications To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis. Apply analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of a Record Information Management program's operation; Promote knowledge sharing between information owners/users through operational processes and systems; Perform vulnerability assessments, ensuing adequate evaluations, recommendations and internal controls are engaged to influence policy objectives and program goals; and Provide guidance and advice on day-to-day operations on a continuous basis to include but not limited to public law, agency policy, manpower, funding availability, etc. NOTE: All experience statements (i.e., duties, specialized experience, or related applicable assessment) copied from this announcement and pasted into your resume will not be considered as a demonstration of your qualifications for this position. Student Loan - Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent or term position may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $10,000 (pre-tax) for one calendar year. More than one loan may be repaid if the combined repayments do not exceed $10,000. Receipt of this incentive will require a three-year service agreement.
