Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service Responsibilities You will direct project plans to support installation and operational acceptance of approved systems. You will operationally support an effective, integrated command-wide communication system. You will direct the development and operational support of an effective, integrated communications system. You will serve as the customer's initial point of contact for new proposals and management of existing IT and communications support. You will assist in the administration of the provisions of complex, multi-function IT contracts You will coordinate innovative, unusual and/or routine shipboard IT system installation, maintenance and sustainment activities. You will research and develop and evaluate effective and technical adequacy of work items and proposals for resolving complicated and critical IT systems problems. You will support cyber security and compliance reviews during shipboard network inspections. You will coordinate with shore-based network operations centers to establish system connectivity and confirm end-to-end system functionality and data flow. You will provide customer service support to resolve deployment, maintenance and sustainment problems with shipboard IT systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: overseeing the implementation of programming specifications by monitoring program design, coding and debugging performed by contractors. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: determining customer requirements and assisting customers by recognizing and analyzing trends by providing instruction and orientation. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: contacting customers at the Help Desk Level that may include those who are skeptical or uncooperative, skilled in communication to relay instructions and represent the team in meetings within the organization. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyzing the types, frequency and solutions necessary to correct problems and improve help desk operational procedures. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, one year of specialized experience equivalent (resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience designing and maintaining all aspects of an information systems security system. Experience troubleshooting and resolving Local Area Network (LAN) problems. Experience providing support and guidance on acquiring, installing and operating workstations, peripheral equipment and associated software. Experience providing technical support, managing IT systems, and overseeing IT projects. Experience with systems administration, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and supporting network infrastructure; Experience configuring, installing, and maintaining IT equipment, ensuring the security and functionality of organizational IT systems; Experience in project management is required, including planning, coordinating, and leading IT-related projects, managing timelines, resources, and ensuring successful project completion. Experience demonstrating and utilizing system security plans and procedures and IT compliance and effective team collaboration is essential.
