    Summary This position is that of installation Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) and is the designated program manager of sexual assault victim support services. **Relocation and sign on bonus negotiable.** Responsibilities Oversees local implementation and execution of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program, and ensures comprehensive victim services are provided through a coordinated community response. Manages all aspects of sexual assault awareness, prevention, training and victim advocacy Serves as the co-chair of Sexual Assault Case Management Group (SACMG) The SARC coordinates on-base resources, such as chaplains and medical treatment facilities, to meet victim needs Prepares for visits from inspecting authorities and criminal investigation authorities Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Conditions of Employment Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Child Care National Agency Check & Inquiry (CNACI) background check is required. Completion of DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification within 6-months of hire Must complete one-year probationary period (unless already completed) Occasional travel may be required Incumbent will be required to conduct business in a shipboard environment. May be required to provide SARC duties and responsibilities in a deployed environment. Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or related social or behavioral science field. Master's degree preferred Minimum of four years of specific experience working with victims of sexual assault or working in victim advocacy and victim advocacy services Experience with the Navy SAPR program preferred Must have the ability and skill to provide effective trainings and briefings; have the knowledge and skill in developing program management plans and adhering to them Must have the ability to work cooperatively with military and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement and legal personnel on behalf of victims Must be skilled in written and verbal communication, and have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and use of office software applications and equipment Must have the ability to understand, be sensitive to, and have empathy for victims Must have the ability to develop trusting helping relationships and to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds Must have the analytical ability to intervene in crisis situations, using sound professional judgment, and ethical practice Must upload proof of education and/or certifications to receive consideration Education Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or related social or behavioral science. (Master's degree preferred) OR combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field OR four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to the above basic requirement, at least four years' experience in victim assistance or advocacy within either military or civilian sector. Additional Information Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies within 60 days of issuance of selection certificate.
