    ESSENTIAL TASKS:

    + Perform a variety of precision surface grinding operations using hand grinders

    + Use portable grinders to remove surface defects such as laps, seams, pits and cracks as identified by in-process inspection. Use dyes penetrant to detect cracks.

    + Check materials for dimensional accuracy.

    + Visually inspect materials for surface defects and mark off for cut-off operations.

    + Exercise identity by heat number, order number, or other identifying coding.

    + Detect and report damaged material, improper operations. Refer questionable matters to proper supervision.

    + Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.

    + Follow prescribed safety regulations.

    NON-ESSENTIAL TASKS:

    + Perform other duties as required or directed.

    + At times, load and unload machine.
