At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $185.00—280.00/hourly, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.
Merrimack Health is the newly unified regional health system formed through the 2024 integration of Lawrence General Hospital with the Holy Family Hospitals (Methuen and Haverhill campuses). Position Overview:
As the Medical Director for the Cardiac Cath Lab, the physician is responsible for the operational management of the Cardiac Cath Lab. You will serve to assure an exceptional patient experience, promote an effective work environment, and champion exemplary teamwork and collaboration among providers, staff, and community leaders, including physicians/surgeons.
Cardiology Service Line
The Physician is responsible for partnering with the Executive Director of Physician Services and the Director, Cardiovascular Services to implement processes and achieve outcomes as they relate to the effective performance of the Cardiac Cath Lab.
The physician’s responsibilities with respect to each functional area of the Cardiology Service Line include, but are not limited to, the following:
Cardiac Cath Lab
+ Work collaboratively with hospital clinical and administrative leaders to ensure appropriate processes are in place to care for those patients requiring urgent or emergent cardiovascular therapies.
+ Interact with regulatory, accreditation and certification agencies that have oversight of cardiovascular services related to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (ex. DPH, Board of Registration of Medicine, etc.) to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
+ Work collaboratively with the Director, Cardiovascular Services and physician stakeholders on process improvement and/or lean initiatives.
+ Assure operational efficiency of the Cardiac Cath Lab department.
Quality Improvement
The Physician serves as a champion of the Hospital’s quality improvement initiatives, the expectations of which include:
+ Promote a culture of safety and accountability in the Cardiology Service Line and Outpatient Physician Practices.
+ Participate in quality improvement efforts and standardization within the organization.
+ Promote/ensure the best patient experience in all areas of patient care delivery.
+ Ensure readiness for the Joint Commission by fostering a culture of everyday readiness and optimizing necessary medical protocols and policies for all key functional areas.
+ Develop and manage key performance indicators with leadership that are in alignment with the hospital's annual operational plan for all key functional areas.
General Initiatives
The physician is expected to:
+ Engage participating physicians (Hospitalists, Emergency Physicians, Community Physicians, Cardiologists, etc.) in a regular manner to include their input and recommendations for program development and superior outcomes.
+ Lead differing viewpoints toward consensus and standardization.
Education and Experience:
+ MD or DO degree with board certification in Internal Medicine and a cardiology fellowship.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
+ Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Experience with quality improvement initiatives and data-driven decision-making.
