    Key job responsibilities

    You will draw from your deep and broad technical expertise to influence architectures of your team and partner teams, provide leadership on complex technical issues. You will help shape the roadmap for, and deliver some of our most strategic technical projects. You will use business and operational metrics to gain insights and help drive decisions.

     

    A day in the life

     

    You will work with product managers and other engineering leaders with Prime Video and other parts of Amazon to identify the right customer and business opportunities, and then collaborate with your team to find the right technical solutions for them. You will be responsible for driving and implementing complex systems, operations, and goals. You will work closely with engineers to scale our royalty calculation engine as we continue to launch new features and reach more PV customers.

    About the team

    Financial Systems ensures every purchase made by our millions of customers is tracked, accounted for, and the resulting royalties calculated and paid to our content and device partners. We own and build the technology that manages this complex process at scale. This organization is part of Prime Video’s Commerce Platform whose overarching mission is to enable our customers to successfully complete their transactions and access their favorite content on any device worldwide.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

     

    - 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

     

    - 3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience

     

    - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

     

    - Can communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

     

    - Experience with financial or accounting software and processes

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
