The Transportation Operations Management (TOM) organization is transforming yard and supply chain management across Amazon's fulfillment network through operational excellence and safety standards. Our Associate Learning and Development (ALD) Training Delivery team enables transportation associates to perform their roles safely and efficiently, ensuring the success of our under-the-roof operations.
As a Senior Training Manager, you will lead and unite the ALD team across 2-3 TOM regions, overseeing 8-10 Training Managers and their teams of 8-10 trainers covering all shifts. You will drive organizational growth through strategic initiatives while ensuring consistent, best-in-class training that maintains compliance with Commercial Driver's License (CDL) requirements, Driver Qualification File (DQF) standards, federal and state regulations, and Amazon policies.

Strategic Leadership & Program Management
* Develop and implement comprehensive training strategies aligned with business goals

* Lead data-driven decision making to optimize training programs
* Partner with field and support leadership to improve training experiences
* Manage training budget and resource allocation effectively

* Lead and develop a team of 8-10 Training Managers
* Establish and maintain training quality standards
* Drive performance metrics and process improvements
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Stakeholder Management & Innovation
* Partner with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives
* Drive technological adoption in training delivery
* Lead change management efforts across regions
* Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships
* Represent ALD in senior leadership meetings
A day in the life
As a Senior Training Manager for ALD, your day typically begins around 7:30 AM, though business hours may vary based on operational needs. Starting with checking emails and preparing for a daily business review, you then lead a virtual daily business review, where you review key metrics and priorities with your team of Training Managers. By mid-morning, you're collaborating with stakeholders on strategic initiatives, such as implementing new safety protocols or enhancing training programs. Your afternoon typically involves coaching sessions with managers, analyzing associate proficiency data, completing quality work checks, and participating in strategic planning meetings. Throughout your workday, you balance the immediate needs of your operation with long-term program development, ensuring your regions maintain training excellence while driving continuous improvement in safety and operational performance. Additionally, you'll spend approximately one week per month traveling to various sites within your geographical coverage area, conducting on-site assessments, providing direct support, and ensuring training standardization across locations.

The Associate Learning and Development (ALD) Training Delivery Team implements comprehensive transportation training programs through hands-on and classroom instruction. Our team collaborates with cross-organizational stakeholder groups to deliver high-quality, timely training that drives operational success and maintains safety excellence. Through engaging instructional techniques and practical skills building, we create an environment that encourages continuous learning and curiosity among transportation associates. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years Amazon experience
5+ years of management experience, including managing leaders
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to handle changing priorities and stressful situations
• Proven track record of taking ownership, managing conflicting priorities and driving results
• Ability to actively use training data to track, trend, and manage training efforts
• A qualified candidate will be focused on how training contributes to the company’s bottom line and will have the analytical skills to justify programmatic decisions with data
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing priorities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
