OVERVIEW:
Summer interns will complete a 10-week internship located full-time on site in Middletown, CT. Liberty Bank is proud to host a dynamic and diverse internship program designed to cultivate the next generation of banking and finance professionals. Through this immersive internship, participants will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals, contribute to real world projects and develop essential skills that will prepare them for successful careers in the financial services industry and beyond!
SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
This internship provides hands-on exposure to commercial lending strategy and executive-level initiatives by directly supporting the Chief Lending Officer. The intern will contribute to strategic research, development of commercial pitch books, and creation of Salesforce dashboards that support data-driven decision-making. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into commercial banking, analytics, and strategic execution within a dynamic financial services environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Industry & market research: Use public data sets and LLM tools to profile industries such as data centers, power generation, and communications equipment; size opportunities and recommend how Liberty can expand Resort/Specialty Finance coverage.
+ Cash ‑ centric sectors – CT & MA focus: Identify cash ‑ intensive industries (e.g., certain retail, hospitality, cannabis ‑ adjacent suppliers) and propose Deposit & Treasury Management plays (ACH/wires, RDC, positive pay), aligned with BSA/AML considerations.
+ Sales routines: Join the weekly All Commercial Call to capture market intel and translate it into relationship strategy plans with bankers and product partners.
+ Product Advisory & partner sessions: Support Product Advisory Council working sessions and joint discussions with strategic partners; help draft concise debriefs, memos, and action lists
+ Strategic initiatives support: Contribute to ongoing reviews and launch kits (e.g., SMB bundle, specialty leasing), preparing research summaries, pro forma assumptions, and risk notes for stakeholders.
+ Presentation & communication: Build polished slide summaries and one ‑ page executive briefs; present findings in small ‑ group settings and capture minutes/action items for distribution in Teams/Outlook.
+ Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Preferred candidates to be majoring in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related fields.
