    ONLY CURRENT MTA/NYCT TRANSIT TRACK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISORS I & II ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

    Responsibility:

    Must be capable of managing M/S 1 Supervision and Hourly employees in all aspects of Track Material Operations within the NYCT Subway System. The applicant will be responsible for overseeing the requisition and distribution of Track Material, must have extensive knowledge of all Track Material and tools. Will be responsible for strict control of all incoming and outgoing Track Material and tools. Must prepare and supervise the preparation of all ROS and MRS for material withdrawn and returned to stock. Must ensure that receiving reports and invoices are properly processed for prompt vendor payment, maintain a daily inventory of all material in stock, and transfer material to and from other yards when material needs redeployment. Conduct monthly cycle inventory of all Track Material. Applicant will also advise the Superintendent of all discrepancies in quality and quantity and maintain adequate inventory levels of material. Must be able to input data on a spreadsheet and database to develop applications for inventory control, cost accounting and planning responsible for all Track special work, correct identification, verification of parts, contents, and storage in proper assigned locations. As required, employee will supervise personnel in the unloading and loading of material. Will be responsible for providing timely coordination and implementation of safety procedures. All administrative responsibilities including payroll, accident reports, daily Inspection forms, work assignment sheets, etc. We also be required to maintain and monitor overtime requirements and usage and assume the duties of the Superintendent in their absence.

    Compensation:

    Maintenance Supervisor II (Track) Salary Range:

    1st Entrance $110,381

     

    2nd Year $111,951

     

    3rd Year $115,888

    Education and Experience:

    Five (5) years of full-time satisfactory experience working for a major railroad or transit authority installing, maintaining and repairing track and roadway; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

     

    Desired Skills

     

    + Knowledge of all track material, track tools, and construction practices.

    + Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills (communication, conflict resolution, decision making, leadership, relationship building, mediation, problem solving, teamwork/collaboration)

    + Basic computer skills including Microsoft office suite, and Adobe Pro.

    + Understand and utilize the Talon program and other various software applications.
