    **Boeing Defense & Space (BDS)** is seeking a **First-level manager** to lead the **Reliability, Maintainability, and Systems Health (RM&SH)** capability team within the **Air Dominance** organization in **St. Louis, MO** . This leader will manage a team of engineers and technical staff who define, develop, verify, and sustain system reliability, maintainability, and system health monitoring solutions for fixed wing tactical aircraft programs. The role blends technical leadership, program execution, process development, and people management to ensure RM&SH characteristics and deliverables meet Boeing and customer requirements. The manager will oversee technical approaches, processes, and tools, while managing, developing, and motivating employees.

    Position Responsibilities:

    + Lead, grow, and shape the RM&SH discipline across multiple programs. Ensure the people, processes, and tools are in place for program success.

    + Develop staffing plans, assign resources, and balance workload to meet the needs of multiple programs and platforms.

    + Develop and maintain RM&SH processes and procedures; drive continuous improvement and lessons learned across programs.

    + Mentor and develop engineering talent through regular 1:1s, career planning, knowledge transfer, and performance management.

    + Ensure quality and conformance of technical artifacts to applicable standards, contractual requirements, and certification guidance.

    + Represent the discipline at design reviews, program reviews, and senior leadership forums.

    + Promote innovation in prognostics, health management, data analytics, and maintainability engineering to improve system availability and affordability.

     

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.

     

    Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

     

    **This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.** An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited institution.

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering teams and/or projects.

    + Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, reliability & maintainability engineering, or systems health/prognostics applied to avionics, aircraft systems, or complex systems.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

    + 5+ years of relevant experience in RM&SH engineering, including experience leading teams or projects.

    + Proficiency in reliability prediction methods, FMEA/FMECA, RCM, FRACAS, maintenance concept development, and reliability growth.

    + Prior experience in supplier technical management.

    + Prior Earned Value Management (EVM) experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM),

    + Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and practices.

    + Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers, foster collaboration, and facilitate technical decision making.
