    UPMC Lititz is looking for a motivated and experienced Lead Phlebotomist to join our team. In this full-time role, you'll work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, ensuring the smooth and accurate daily operations of our department. You'll collect and process specimens, maintain a safe and professional environment, and serve as a coach and mentor for new staff, collaborating closely with medical technologists.

     

    The ideal candidate has 3+ years of phlebotomy experience along with strong phone and computer skills.     Responsibilities:

    + Complies with all organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.

    + Collects, labels, and processes specimens accurately and on time, following patient ID policies.

    + Communicates professionally with patients, clients, and coworkers; escalates unresolved issues to supervisors.

    + Confirms orders and gathers accurate billing, diagnostic, and insurance information when needed.

    + Delegates tasks and priorities to staff as appropriate, ensuring workflow efficiency.

    + Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including supplies and waste management.

    + Performs clerical duties such as filing, data entry, faxing, and preparing mail.

    + Trains, mentors, and orients new employees to departmental standards and procedures.

    + Documents all activities, logs, and incidents accurately and promptly.

    + Participates in teams, special projects, and ensures compliance with dress codes, safety regulations, and other policies.

    + High School diploma or equivalent.

    + Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program is preferred.

    + Minimum 2 years' experience.

    + Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience is preferred.

    + Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.

    + Must interact with other departments.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

    + Act 33 with renewal

    + Act 34 with renewal

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
