The Program Coordinator I oversees transit training operations, including field supervision of training staff and onboarding new hires. Key responsibilities include interviewing candidates, assisting with commercial learner permits, managing Entry Level Driver’s Training (ELDT), and coordinating schedules and CDL logistics. The role also supervises the training program by observing field operations, evaluating trainers’ effectiveness, conducting ride checks on Transit drivers, and providing feedback to ensure safety and compliance. Additional duties include supervising trainers, administering federally mandated drug screenings, collaborating with management on program improvements, and monitoring state and federal compliance for CDL testing and training. Employees in this position will work closely with another Program Coordinator I performing similar duties and must be able to rotate responsibilities according to a set schedule.
A valid Texas Class “B” Commercial Driver License (CDL) with passenger and air brakes endorsements is preferred. If you don’t have these credentials, Transit will provide all necessary training and reimburse the cost of obtaining your permit and CDL.
This is a salaried position paying a starting salary of $4,715.17 monthly ($56,588.04 annually)

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Two years of teaching/training experience or office administration experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to handle busy phone, 2-way radio, and office traffic, and to perform time-critical tasks reliably.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Required Licenses and Certifications
+ Valid vehicle driver license and good driving record.
+ Must be able to obtain State of Texas class "B" vehicle driver license (Commercial Driver License) with passenger endorsement and air brakes endorsement within 60 days of employment.

The selected candidate must have the ability to lift and move medium-weight objects, bend, stoop, and assist and/or move people with disabilities as they board/off-board the bus and other campus vehicles, and they must be able to work in various weather conditions including heat, rain, and/or cold. They must also be able to work Saturday home football games as needed. This position will be covered by DOT regulations and be in a random drug and alcohol testing pool.
