    Job Description

    The Forest Science Laboratory student intern will work under the direction of the Urban Tree Improvement Program Specialist to complete tasks in our production operations including weeding, watering and fertilizing growing stock and cleaning and sowing seed.

    Responsibilities:

    -Weeding, watering and fertilizing growing stock.

     

    -Cleaning and sowing seed.

     

    -Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    Required Education: At the time of the application, must be enrolled at an accredited college/university with at least 30 hours toward a bachelor's degree in Forestry, Range Science, Natural Resource Management or closely related field.

     

    Required Experience: Plant nursery work

     

    Preferred Experience: Greenhouse operations

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Require Knowledge: MS Office. Plant care.

     

    Preferred Knowledge: Greenhouse operations.

     

    Required Skills: Oral and written communication and organization skills.

     

    Required Abilities: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

    Registrations, Certifications and Licenses:

    Required: Valid Class C Texas Driver's license or ability to acquire on within 30 days of hire.
