RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Understand, protect and promote our empathetic, people-focused culture in all aspects of the business.
+ Serve as an inter-disciplinary team member in meetings and communications with clients and regulatory agencies pertaining to specific projects/tasks
+ Support power generation and delivery projects in Florida and throughout the southeastern U.S.
+ Mentor staff and lead teams of ecologists in field data collection efforts
+ Manage projects involving listed species permitting and relocations including gopher tortoise and other listed species surveys
+ Manage projects involving state and federal jurisdictional wetland determinations
+ Prepare Water Management District (WMD), Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit applications
+ Prepare, review, and negotiate environmental documentation including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analyses, biological assessments, mitigation plans, and monitoring reports
+ Provide subject-matter expertise in wildlife hazard management, mentor and develop staff capabilities, and support business development efforts with existing and prospective clients
+ Occasional overnight and/or weekend travel to remote field sites and operating field vehicles and equipment
+ Manage projects that may include research, field data collection efforts, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) coordination and technical report preparation
+ Develop and/or maintain a client base
+ Draft or review reports and provide constructive comments on documents prepared by others
+ Assist in the development of project scopes and budgets
QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Proven ability to build strong partnerships and relationships both internally and externally
+ Bachelor’s Degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field from an accredited institution (Master’s degree is a plus)
+ Over 20 years of relevant experience
+ Strong project management background and experience in the utility sector
+ Proficient with Microsoft computer applications
+ Ability to complete indoor and outdoor work. When in an outdoor environment, the employee is subject to significant walking distances in uneven terrain, varying temperatures, weather conditions, wildlife, and noise
+ Must possess a valid driver's license
Salary Range:
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications of the candidate as it relates to the position description
