**Summary** :
This position will serve as the **Yoga Instructor for the Transforming Health & Resilience in Veterans (THRIVE) Program.** The THRIVE Program will be a community-based clinical outreach program designed to provide care to Veterans and First Responders who are experiencing the effects of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) or post-traumatic stress (PTS) resulting from a career serving our nation.
The three-phase program will evaluate, diagnose and treats physical, cognitive and other health conditions during 3-week intensive outpatient program. The program will see approximately 150 Veterans per year and will provide a referral network and post-program follow-ups for as many as 400 Veterans and family members every year.
The Group Yoga Exercise Instructor leads Veterans and First Responders who have has history of TBI and/or PTSD through chair group exercise activities. The Group with consist of up to six participants in class, class will last 45 minutes and will vary from two to three times weekly. The Group Yoga Exercise Instructor educates participants about useful and safe exercises, assists them in achieving exercise goals and creates a fun workout environment for all populations pursuant to the fitness standards. Instructor leads members through group exercise activities in a classroom setting.
Description of Job Responsibilities:
1. Educates members on safe techniques and guidelines. Greet all members and orients new participants. Instructs class to the ability level of the students participating. Monitor participants through perceived rate of exertion. Works with participants to achieve fitness goals. Encourages new participants and orients them to class.
2. Instructs group exercise classes according to schedule and according to company standards. Starts and finishes class on time as scheduled. Stores all equipment neatly and appropriately.

Education Requirements
+ High School Diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
+ Aerobic or group exercise instruction certification For exercise classes where certification does not exist, verified training may be considered as a substitute for certification in areas of: Tai Chi, Pre-Natal Yoga, Senior Fitness, Children’s Fitness, Adolescent Fitness, Hip Hop, WSI, Line Dancing, and the like. NASM Approved provider
Professional Experience Requirements:
+ Six (6) moths experience in leading group exercise activities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
+ Ability to deal with a diversity of individuals. Ability to communicate with people of all age groups. Strong Communication skills. Knowledge of safe exercise technique and principles. Ability to effectively demonstrate all skills being taught to participants.
