Accounts Payable Specialist – Temp-to-Hire (Tukwila Plant)Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at the Tukwila plant in a temp-to-hire capacity. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for verifying, inputting, and maintaining records related to invoices, purchase orders, travel expense reports, utility expenses, and accounts payable files. In addition, this position will provide support for other accounting functions as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department.
Schedule & Compensation
+ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
+ Pay Range: $24–$34 per hour (DOE)
+ Reports To: Accounting Supervisor
+ Interviewers: Accounting Supervisor and Controller
Core Responsibilities
+ Verify, process, and maintain vendor invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports with strict adherence to company policies and GAAP standards.
+ Ensure timely and accurate payment processing for utilities, travel expenses, and other accounts payable transactions.
+ Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and documentation.
+ Assist with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and other accounting tasks as assigned.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth financial operations.
+ Support the Accounting Supervisor and Controller with special projects and audits as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong proficiency in Accounts Payable processes and Excel (including spreadsheets, formulas, and reconciliations).
+ Working knowledge of GAAP and experience with ERP systems.
+ Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
+ Effective communication skills for working with vendors and cross-functional teams.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
+ College-level coursework in accounting or finance.
+ Experience with expense reporting software.
+ Familiarity with excise tax reporting.
+ Knowledge of fixed asset capitalization and maintenance.
Experience Level
+ Intermediate Level – Candidates should have prior experience in accounts payable or general accounting functions and be ready to contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tukwila, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $34.00/hr.
