Job Overview
Fairview is seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Payer Enrollment Specialist to support the onboarding and enrollment of more than 300 physicians and advanced practice providers. This role ensures accurate provider data, timely payer enrollment, and seamless coordination with internal teams and external health plans. Your work directly impacts Fairview’s ability to deliver accessible, high‑quality care across Minnesota.
Position Summary
The Payer Enrollment Specialist manages provider data systems, oversees third‑party payer enrollment processes, and serves as a key liaison between Fairview and contracted health plans. This position ensures providers are enrolled efficiently and accurately, enabling timely reimbursement and uninterrupted patient care.
**Shift** : Day
**Hours** : Full time 80 hours every two weeks.
Key Responsibilities
Provider Enrollment & Credentialing Support
+ Coordinate and submit enrollment applications to third‑party payers for new and existing providers
+ Track enrollment progress, renewals, and re‑certifications across all contracted health plans
+ Ensure timely receipt of provider numbers and effective dates
Data & Database Management
+ Maintain accurate provider information, including payer IDs, credentialing status, and site affiliations
+ Identify and resolve missing or incomplete provider data
+ Ensure data integrity across internal systems and documentation repositories
Process Coordination & Communication
+ Facilitate smooth documentation flow during provider onboarding
+ Provide timely employment notifications to health plans
+ Prepare and distribute summaries related to provider enrollment and credentialing status
+ Maintain comprehensive electronic and physical files for all employed providers
Internal Resource & Cross‑Functional Support
+ Serve as a subject‑matter resource for Fairview teams regarding payer enrollment processes
+ Document workflows and maintain up‑to‑date process guides
+ Generate ad hoc reports to support operational needs
Commitment to Service
+ Demonstrate cultural awareness and adapt communication and service approaches to meet the needs of diverse populations served
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, provider enrollment, credentialing, or a related field
+ Strong computer proficiency
+ Excellent communication and customer service skills
+ High attention to detail and accuracy
+ Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience in provider enrollment, payer credentialing, or healthcare operations
