13640BRJob Description:Coordinates and directs the activities of the Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Specialists and Technicians in the support all of the USSTP manufacturing facilities by providing design input based on manufacturability and assisting with startup and development of manufacturing processes. Responsible for automating manufacturing process; the development and implementation of new processes such as automated gauging, new machining methods, implementation of automation equipment, specifically, robotics to improve safety, quality and manufacturing efficiencies. This position will develop best practices and standardization across all USSTP facilities in regard to tooling & machining, resulting in more efficiencies and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Plans and directs activities of the Department to:
+ Develop best manufacturing and machining practices across all facilities to include premium thread and coupling operations.
+ Proactively address potential manufacturing opportunities for machining and inspection at the front end by collaborating with USSTP design teams.
+ Investigate, develop and implement new manufacturing processes, particular with the use of robotic and other automation to ensure systems operate and peak safety and performance efficiency.
+ As appropriate collaborate with facility and outside suppliers to address facility needs.
+ Proactively seek robotic equipment, both new and used, and develop applications throughout the tubular facilities.
+ Support automation efforts in the areas of gaging and threading of premium connections.
+ The incumbent is responsible that the trade secrets, processes, intellectual property are confidential to USS. The incumbent therefore develops practices and procedures that ensure confidential information is not revealed or vendors and/or others
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering; Computer Engineering. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar engineering degree in the applied sciences.
+ Experience managing others in a manufacturing environment.
+ Knowledge of CNC programming of lathes, robotics, and machining centers.
+ Demonstrated ability to adapt to new production trends and demonstrated aptitude for technology.
+ Demonstrated ability to deliver results within targeted deadlines.
+ Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization internally, and with external customers and suppliers.
