13709BRJob Description:United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor who will be responsible for implementing the quality assurance program in the manufacturing facility, including partnering with the Operations team to monitor for adherence to quality standards.
Responsibilities:
+ Ensure the safe and effective operation of the testing labs within the Granite City Complex (Raw Materials, Ironmaking and Steelmaking).
+ Manage represented employees associated with the Test Labs.
+ Control the policies, procedures and activities of the labs to ensure the accuracy of its results and the facility's compliance to ISO 17025 and A2LA.
+ Coordinate the release of product for shipment through verification conforming test results. This will be accomplished by working with appropriate Product Met and Quality Engineer.
+ Maintain the equipment and resources necessary for the Testing Labs.
+ Continually improve the efficient operations of the Test Labs.
+ Prevent, Identify and correct departures from the Quality System.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor of Science is required. Chemistry degree preferred.
Preferred Skills:
+ Previous experience managing represented employees.
+ 2-5 years work experience.
+ Strong writing skills with a proficiency in technical writing.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
+ Auditing experience and training conducting internal quality audits.
+ Knowledge of ISO 17025 Standards and A2LA
+ Knowledge of testing equipment and testing procedures; OES, XRF and combustion analysis.
+ Base salary range $75,000 - $95,000. This base salary range is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
