Position overview:
We¿re seeking a Research Associate to work on the LUZ-ZEPLIN (LZ) dark matter search project. The RA will carry out a range of research activities to develop, maintain and operate offline computing system to produce science-ready data for use by the LZ Collaboration. The Research Associate will also carry out science analysis on these data, and disseminate scientific results through internal reports, conference presentations, and journal publications.
Your specific responsibilities include:
+ Contribute to the development, maintenance, and operation on computing systems with the LZ Offline Analysis operations team, including travel to the experimental site or computing facilities as necessary to complete these duties.
+ Analyze data from LZ and participate in leadership activities, e.g., working group convener
+ Guide graduate students and others to carry out LZ analysis
+ Prepare results for publication, e.g., serve on or lead paper writing committees and present results at scientific conferences
+ Carry out R&D towards future projects, as time permits
**Note:** The Research Associate role is a fixed term staff position. This is a 12-month fixed term position with the possibility of extension. Assignment duration is contingent upon project needs and funding, and annual faculty review of performance. Applicants must provide evidence of either a recently completed PhD degree or confirmation of completion of the PhD degree requirements prior to starting the position. Applicants should include a brief cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and names of three references for future letters of recommendation with the application.

_The expected pay range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000 per annum. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs._
