Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday , Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm.

As a Radiology Technologist, you will be covering all areas that include Radiography, Surgery, General X-ray, and Fluoroscopy. Banner Estrella Medical Center is a 353-bed acute care hospital providing a full range of health care services to the fast growing communities of west Phoenix. POSITION SUMMARY
This position facilitates services and provides clinical support within the department. Performs prescribed procedures as directed by following department/facility policies, procedures and protocols. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills to organize and provide care appropriate to patient population.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Participates in staff development, orientation, education and evaluation of clinical competencies. Mentors staff to increase clinical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. May participate in employee performance reviews. Provides feedback on individual team members to leadership as requested. Assists with professional growth and development of team.
2. Provides and/or facilitates patient care for patient populations and serves as a resource to staff for clinical support. Assumes responsibility for direct patient care as needed. Promotes interdisciplinary patient care planning and patient education. Provides oversight to team when leader is absent. Assists with patient concerns. Coordinates scheduling and workflow of team. Completes monthly Trophon audits and is the subject matter expert for the ultrasound probe high level disinfection (HLD) process. Performs quality control of images and provides feedback to less experienced Ultrasound Technologists.
3. Demonstrates leadership qualities in support of department needs. Collaborates with various departments and outside vendors to assure adequate resources and coordination of safe, efficient patient care management. Works closely with field service engineers and biomed technicians for equipment repairs and service needs.
4. Serves as resource to patients, families, providers and staff in providing care by facilitating patient flow. Assists in the interpretation of department, facility and/or system policies within the clinical setting. Provides safe and cost-effective care while considering patient satisfaction and customer service. Coordinates department supply management and assists with inventory control.
5. Accountable for the ethical, legal, professional and certification responsibilities related to the practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
6. Supports change and assists in the development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of the process improvement and quality management activities of the department/system. May serve as QA and clinical educator. May coordinate and assist in development of QI/QC projects. Remains knowledgeable about American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation submission process, image quality and protocol requirements, if at ACR facility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires national certification in one area of specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). BLS certification required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 5 or more years of experience.
Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, ability to analyze data and solve problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
